OUR PHILOSOPHY:

This is a great quote to remember when we find ourselves in a rut.  So one day, we sold everything we owned, reduced our worldly possessions to the content of a day pack and sailed away from the safe harbour to go travelling for two years. During our travels we were caught in a gale force storm at sea for three days en-route to Antarctica; survived an 8.8 earthquake in Chile; climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania; ran a guest lodge in the Andes Mountains in Peru; farmed on an organic farm in Patagonia, Argentina and volunteered on a biomimicry project in South Africa.

 

Over time it’s only natural that the memories of our trip will fade (perhaps not the memory of the earthquake).  There is one thing though, that will remind us of the time when we caught the trade winds in our sails….our photographs.

 

While we are certain you’ll come away from our photo trips having improved your photography skills, we hope it’s more than that.  We like to think of our photo trips as mini-sabbaticals.  A time to be inspired by others; learn something new or visit a place you’ve never been to before.

BARRY J BRADY

 

Barry has been a professional photographer since 2008.  He has been a photography instructor at School Creative in Vancouver, BC and Capilano University, North Vancouver. He was a regular contributing writer to Digital Photography School; he runs one of the largest photography Meetup groups in Vancouver. 

 

His commercial photography has taken him across Canada on assignment and includes major hotel chains, well known restaurants and exclusive resorts.  

 

His extensive travels have provided opportunities to photograph silent and sacred places around the world.  He is an entertaining speaker and regularly presents photography talks throughout the Lower Mainland.

 

Barry is also a fine art photographer with selected artwork in private collections in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Victoria.

 

He has completed a Basic Outdoor and Survival Skills course and a Wilderness and Remote First Aid course.

FRANCIS BRADY

 

Francis has an indefatigable spirit for adventure wired into her DNA.  She was a contributing writer for one of Southern Africa’s largest travel magazines.  Through her love for the outdoors and leading hikes she began a speaking forum for travellers to share their stories through the “Adventure Travel Speaker Series”.  As an entrepreneur, Francis and her sister also ran a small business creating tailor-made romantic occasions for couples.

 

Her ability to research, plan and organize these photo trips comes from her years of experience in business; managing projects, budgets and finances. 

​

In 2022 she will be launching curated experiences in literature, art and culture under her brand, Enhancing Well-Being.

 

Francis is a certified Field Leader in hiking and has completed a Basic Outdoor and Survival Skills Course and a Wilderness and Remote First Aid Course.  

 

She completed an Existential Well-Being Counseling course through KU Leuven in Belgium in 2020.

 

As a couple, Barry takes care of all things photographic and Francis handles the business operations and logistics.
